My initial goal was simply to reuse the hardware design of the VL1 controller and create a unified interface for editing the iconic FM parameters of each of the eight DX7 modules.

However, the journey quickly evolved. I began exploring macro editing, which introduced a transformative way to adjust multiple operator parameters simultaneously with a single knob turn—unlocking a new level of control and creative expression.

This led to the idea of extending macros across all eight modules, which in turn brought me to the concept of Component Synthesis. Eventually, I also delved into experiments with Additive Resynthesis, pushing the boundaries even further.
